BQA 2024 Annual Report

It’s been a quiet year on the whole for Quadrathlon Racing as sadly our National Trophy Series was down to just 3 races, Shrewsbury has finally folded completely, which is very sad news, and Bude was also cancelled due to lack of support. Thankfully we still had 3 excellent races in our calendar, The Brigg Bomber (World Cup Event also), Dearne Valley Sprint, and The Brigg Sprint. The numbers racing across the board were reasonable but down on last year, but thanks to ‘Team Manvers’ and ‘Lincsquad’ who are continually doing a sterling job introducing new athletes to our sport. So hopefully we can build on this and get more athletes taking part.

On behalf of the BQA I’d like to say a Huge THANK YOU to all our Race organizers and volunteers, they work so hard each year to put on these events for us, it is a big commitment and we really do appreciate your time! Thanks also to all the Sponsors who support them, and to you the BQA Members for you annual fees, which are vital so we can run the BQA Governing Body and more important provide the ever important Insurance fees to be able to support the Race Organizers…. Big Thanks!

BQA 2023 Annual Report

To our 2023 Quadrathletes, BQA Members and Race Organizers, this year on the whole, has been an improvement on the last few years, even though our numbers are not back to ‘Pre Covid’ we are seeing many athletes getting into ‘race mode again! We had 4 Quads in our calendar, with sadly Shrewsbury having to be cancelled due to organization issues. The numbers racing across the board were were reasonable, but hopefully we can continue to build on getting more athletes into our sport next season.

‘The BQA’.  would like to say a Big Thank – our wonderful Race Organizers, without you our sport would simply not exist, you have very successfully done us proud yet again, and also to every single one of you that made it to the start line this year, be proud of what you have achieved and we look forward to seeing you again next season!

BQA 2022 Annual Report

This year on the whole, has certainly been an improvement on the last two years, with Covid restrictions gone and many athletes getting back to training and getting their ‘race heads’ back on! We had 4 Quads in our calendar, with sadly Bude having to be cancelled due to a dried up canal caused by a major leak! The numbers racing across the board were were reasonable, but hopefully we can continue to build on getting more athletes into our sport next season. Please keep spreading the word and as always thank you for your valuable membership and ongoing support, it’s so much appreciated by your Governing Body ‘The BQA’.

I would like to say a Big Thank – You to our Race Organizers who very successfully did us proud yet again, and also to every single one of you that made it to the start line this year, be proud of what you have achieved and we look forward to seeing you again next season!

BQA 2021 Annual Report

I started last year’s Annual Report with these words …. ‘As most of you will know, I’m never stuck for words, but for once I didn’t really know where to start putting together our BQA Report ….’ Well it’s not been quite that bad we did have 3 Quads in our calendar and many of us managed at least one of them! It has certainly been another tough year for many of us, but hopefully by next season we will all be firing on all cylinders!
Motivation to train is often fueled by race Adrenalin, so let’s hope we can back to racing, and put events in our calendar to fuel our passion!

We had 3 races in our Series in 2021 and I would like to say a Big Thank – you to our Race Organizers who very successfully did us proud yet again, and also to every single one of you that made it to the start line this year, be proud of what you have achieved and we look forward to seeing you again next season!

BQA 2020 Annual Report

Dear BQA Members, how I’ve missed you all!

First and foremost I hope you have all stayed fit and healthy in what has been such a difficult challenging times, what a year it has been!

As most of you will know, I’m never stuck for words, but for once I didn’t really know where to start on putting together our BQA Report for this season …. I hope you have all found some positives to take forwards into 2021.

It was certainly difficult at the start, knowing how different our year would be, I felt very sad giving everyone the news that our races would be cancelled month after month. Motivation to train is often fueled by race adrenalin, so I expect we have all lacked a bit of this ‘oomph’ this year. I did get to do 5 virtual quads instead with a few friends, which were great fun; however we did talk most of the way our hearts were in it, but our heart rates were far from race pace! I expect many of you will have had your own challenges to keep you ticking over, no matter how big or small the goal, hopefully they helped keep you motivated and smiling throughout these Covid times.

So after such a quiet season there isn’t a lot to report, but I did feel the need to keep in touch and wish you all well with your training over the winter months! I hope we all come out on the other side, ready for action with a full season of Quadrathlons in the diary.

At least there is some good news ‘All 2020 BQA members and affiliates will have their memberships extended until the end of 2021’
