Conwy Mountain Challenge 2020

As you may of heard the Conwy Mountain Tri has been put on hold for 2020 due to difficult tide times, but after an overwhelming ‘go for it’ response to change the format ‘Fabian 4’ have made the decision to go ahead with a TWO-STAGE Mountain Challenge on Sunday, 20th Sept, 2020.

The BQA will most certainly be supporting this event, but it will not be in the BQA National Trophy Series as it now only has 2 disciplines and no canoe leg.

The competitors will be bussed over to Caffi Siabod at Capel Curig, & offered the choice of either a marked trail run back to HQ/transition at Nant Conwy Rugby Club, or a longer, higher level route, requiring navigational skills, from the head of the Crafnant Valley, up Crimpiau & then along the ridge to where our usual check point is at the fence crossing, from then following our normal traditional route back down to the Crafnant Valley.

Leg 2 will be the usual mountain bike leg in Gwydir Forest.

We will be offering Solo & Pairs (one stage each) classes.

As always, it will be a friendly, environmentally-aware journey through fantastic terrain, in aid of the Snowdonia Society  & if funds allow, the Carneddau Pony Society

Entries will open in JANUARY, so keep an eye on the event website & Facebook page.

Please forward this to your team members if you were the team leader at the last event, & to all your like-minded buddies/club-mates.

Cheers, Ellie
